The University of St Andrews Vimeo channel will be shut down on Friday 30 June 2023. Here is what this means for users of the channel and those who have uploaded videos to the channel in the past.
Availability
The Vimeo channel has been unsupported since late 2019 and no new videos have been uploaded to the channel since that time. The University of St Andrews Vimeo channel will remain available for viewing until the channel is shut down on Friday 30 June 2023. During this period, all videos will still be viewable in their current state. New videos are published to the University of St Andrews YouTube channel.
Archiving
The digital communications team will create a partial archive of videos on the channel based on the following criteria:
- historical significance
- current relevance
- lectures
- events.
Archived videos will be migrated from Vimeo to the University of St Andrews YouTube channel for preservation.
Your videos
If you have any videos on the University of St Andrews Vimeo channel that you would like preserved, please contact [emailprotected] and we will archive them to University of St Andrews YouTube channel and share a link with you to a downloadable copy of the video.
Shut down
On Friday 30 June 2023, the Vimeo channel will be shut down. All videos and content on the platform will be permanently deleted.
